I am finally getting around to updating the blog! It has been a crazy last couple of months. We have almost been in California for a month now. For anyone that doesn't know Jeff took a job in Riverside, California right before Thanksgiving. It all happened so fast and sometimes I still can't believe it. We knew that when he started that the kids and I would stay in Vegas for awhile to figure out what to do with the house, pack and let Karlee finish up dance and preschool. I had a lot to do during the month of December but one thing that we made time for was seeing friends as much as possible. We have lived in Vegas since before we were married and it became our home. I loved it there and didn't want to move. However, I knew that there was a reason that this job opened up for Jeff and that we had to take it. So before we left we got together with everyone we could as much as possible and said our goodbyes.
I had a little Christmas going away party for Karlee with all of her friends. She just loves her friends from Vegas so much! She asked almost everyday if she could have a friend over or go to a friend's house. I love these girls too and hope that they can still stay friends even though we live apart.
This is Addy and her brother Mason. The Roses moved to Vegas a little over a year ago and we became instant friends. Addy and Karlee are born a few weeks apart and Karson and Mason are born a few weeks apart. The kids loved to play together and their mom, Mindy and I loved hanging out too.
Irelynn and Karlee have been best friends since they were babies! These girls just love each other so much. They have done preschool together and been in the same church class. They have spent hours playing at each other's houses.
Heidi is another one of Karlee's best friends and her mom Sarah and I became great friends too. Sarah and I have been getting the girls together since they were a couple months old. We love Heidi and her family!
Kimber became our neighbor about a year ago. I was so excited when the Morris family moved right behind us. The kids have loved going to play at her house or have her over to ours. I loved hanging out with her mom Brinlee too. She also had a baby two days before Kyler was born.
This little boy is Kolby. I watched him for a little over a year when he was a baby a couple days a week while his mom worked. The kids acted like Kolby was their little brother sometimes.
I taught school with Valerie for three years. We carpooled to school together when we both bought houses far away from our school. Even when I stopped teaching we have still stayed in touch and got together every now and then.
This is my friend Meesha's daughter Gigi. I met Meesha when I was student teaching and then we both got a job at the same school. I have known her and Valerie since before I was married. We also continued getting together once I stopped teaching and then when she had Gigi we started getting together more often for playdates. We will miss that!
My friend Krystal, along with my friend Nichole put together a little going away brunch for me the week before we moved. Since it was so close to Christmas not everyone could come but it was fun to hang out with these girls one last time. These girls are so awesome and I couldn't ask for better friends. I will miss seeing them at church, preschool, dance, the park, craft nights, dinners, each other houses and anywhere else we would run into each other or get together.
Krystal, Irelynn's mom, has been one of my best friends in Vegas! She is one of the best people you will ever meet. We spent lots of time at each other's houses, spent plenty of time watching each other's kids, and spent several Saturday mornings going to the temple together. She is the only person that has watched Karlee and Karson over night. We think of each other's kids as our own. It was hard saying bye to the Reeve family.
Of course I didn't get a picture with everyone that I wanted to. We had so many wonderful friends and we already miss them so much! I am grateful that Vegas is only 4 hours away and I know we will be back to visit. I am hoping we will also have lots of visitors come and stay with us while they are here doing Disneyland, SeaWorld, or the beach. Anyone is welcome!!
