Kyler Thomas Vocana was born two weeks ago today on July 29th! He came 9 days early just like his brother Karson. He weighed 7 lbs 6 oz and was 18 1/2 in. He looks just like Karlee and Karson did when they were born so he fits into the family just great. We are so blessed that everything went well and he is so healthy and perfect. We are all so in love with the little guy!
I started having a few contractions on Friday the 27th but they were very mild and not consistent. With the other two kids I didn't have contractions until the day I delivered them so I had a feeling that the little guy would be coming sometime that weekend eventhough he wasn't due for another week and a half. On Saturday I woke up and was still have very mild contrations but I was having more of them. Jeff and I decided to get a lot done around the house (cleaning, laundry, etc) in case I did have the baby that day. Well, the evening came and I still wasn't having strong enough contractions to go to the hospital. I was just hoping that I could make it through the night so we wouldn't have to take Karlee and Karson somewhere in the middle of the night. After going to sleep for about an hour I woke up around midnight and the contractions were getting worse. My biggest fear was going to the hospital and having them send me home because that is what they did with Karson. I didn't know if we should go or if I should try to go back to sleep. I decided to get my bag ready and get the kid's stuff ready. Then Jeff and I just kind of waited around. I would have a strong contraction but then I wouldn't have another one for 10 minutes or more. Finally we were sitting on the couch and I one that was so painful and Jeff stood up and said we are going. We had to call our dear friends, the Reeves, at almost 3:00 in the morning so they could take the kids.
Here I am right before heading to the hospital.
We dropped the kids off and headed to the hospital. We got there about 4:00am. They checked us in and checked me. The nurse said I was at a 5 or 6 and said she was going to call my doctor so we could have a baby. The contractions started coming faster and stronger. We had to wait to get into the delivery room for a little bit and I was in pain. They finally wheeled me in and I still had to wait a little while for the epidural. I was progressing so fast this time that I felt the most pain that I ever had. After getting the epidural the nurse checked me and said I was already at a 10 and ready to have the baby. We just waited a few mintues for the doctor and then it was already time to push. It probably took about 15 minutes and then Kyler was born. He came at 6:31am, just 2 1/2 hours after getting to the hospital.
He's here! Dr. Martin did such a great job and I had a wonderful nurse helping me stay calm from the beginning to the end. Jeff was such a great support too.
After looking at him all cleaned up Jeff and I felt like we have had the same baby 3 different times:)
Since Karson had to be in the NICU for a week I was so nervous that we might have to do that all over again. I was so relieved when everything was just fine with him.
Jeff-father of 3! I still don't think he can believe that:) It is so much easier when you have done it before though.
The kids came by that afternoon to meet their new brother. They love him so much and can't get enough of him. Karson was a little unsure at first but he warmed up quickly. Karlee wants to hold him every chance she gets.
Brand new baby! Oh how I wish they would stay tiny forever.
Family of Five! Jeff and I are out numbered.
The kids trying to calm the baby.
Loving on their brother.
So sweet and innocent
Time to go home!
I can't believe he is already 2 weeks old. Kyler is such a good baby and we just love him so much!! More pictures to come:)
