Karlee is Two!!

Karlee turned two years old on Saturday!! These two years have gone so fast. Karlee is such a sweet and smart little girl. She talks all day, loves to learn, loves her friends and her little brother.
Karlee's favorite thing is Mickey Mouse so we had to have a Mickey party. Lucky for Karlee my mom was here visiting so she got a cool Mickey cake made by Grandma.
She also made mickey cupcakes.
We had a little friend party and then had some family come from St. George since my mom was in town.
The girls made these cute sun visors.
Karlee loved when everyone sang Happy Birthday to her.
Irelynn gave Karlee this little tutu and bow. She was thrilled.

Karlee got a bike! Doesn't she look like a little Diva?
Heidi pushing Karlee since she can't pedal yet.

My cousins Abby and Andrew came down from St. George. Karlee just loves them.

Karlee and Karson with their Great Grandparents.
I can't believe how big my little girl is getting.

Daddy and Karlee
Karson missed all the fun. This is what he did all day.
Karlee had such a fun day! She loved all the attention and got tons of presents! Thanks everyone for making her day special.

Another Week

The month is flying by. Karson is now 3 weeks old and getting bigger everyday. There was only about 3 days in between my sister Aubrey being here and my sister Ashley coming where I had the kids by myself during the day. We seem to manage fine but it is so nice having the extra help. Ashley flew in from St. Louis on Thursday and left this morning. She helped me so much and spent most of the days playing with Karlee or holding Karson. Karlee has been asking all day where Ashley is.
Karson is starting to stay awake more during the day but he still sleeps all the time.
I think he looks so cute in his little bath towel!
Karlee just loves her baby brother! This is how we usually find her. She is always saying kisses and hugs. He takes it pretty well.

Little cutie pies.

Cute Pics

I figured since the last picture I posted was Karson in pink I should probably post some more pictures of him in his clothes. He does look like Karlee but you can tell he is a boy! He is two weeks old and already getting bigger. I hate how fast they grow at the beginning.

We have been spending a lot of time at home and Karlee is running out of things to do! The other day she wanted all of her bows in her hair at one time. Silly girl:)

Who's Who?

We can't believe how much Karson and Karlee look alike! Jeff had the idea that we put him in one of Karlee's outfits to see if they look the same. Of course there is a little difference but when we put him in pink I had a flashback of two years ago. Poor little guy all dressed in pink:)

Karson Michael Vocana

Karson Michael Vocana was born on May 24th at 7:10pm! He weighed 7 pounds 3 onces and was 19 1/2 inches long. He looks just like Karlee did when she was born.
I woke up that morning with slight cramps in my lower back. I hadn't had that feeling before so I knew something was different. Not long after being awake I started having contractions. They weren't very strong but they were coming every three minutes. I called my doctor and the nurse said I probably better go to the hospital. Jeff came home from work early and we dropped Karlee off at my friend Krystal's house and headed to the hospital. After being checked out they said I was in early labor but sent me home. I couldn't believe we had to leave. After being home a few hours the contractions got a lot stronger. I could no longer talk through them so we dropped Karlee back off at Krystal's and headed back to the hospital. As soon as I got there they took one look at me and put me in a room right away. All the nurses said that they knew we would be back.

Everything after that went really fast. I got the epidural soon after being there and finally felt a lot better. Once I started pushing it didn't take long for little Karson to arrive. They say the second one comes faster and he sure did.

The actual delivery wasn't bad at all. The hard part came after when they said he needed to go over to the NICU for a couple of hours. Then a couple of hours turned into a week. Karson had an infection that needed a week's worth of antibiotics to clear up.
Karlee came the next day to see her little brother. She was so excited!

She looked like a little doctor with her mask and gown on.
It has been a long week with lots of trips back and forth from Summerlin Hospital. I would go every 3 hours to feed him or would stay in between feedings just so I could hold him. Jeff came when he could and Karlee got to go visit him a few times as well.
Karlee wants to kiss and hug her brother all of the time. She can't get enough of him!
I don't know how people do it when they have a baby in the hospital for more than a week. I felt bad leaving Karlee every day to go to the hospital but I felt bad leaving Karson at the hospital every time I went home. I'm so glad he had great nurses taking care of him.
Aunt Aubrey got here on Thursday night and has been the biggest help. I couldn't have done it without her. She has been taking care of Karlee while I have been at the hospital and is staying to help for little bit now that Karson is home.
This is our first family picture with the four of us. I can't believe we have 2 kids!
The cutest kids!! We are so happy Karson is home!
